An Outlet for Various Writings and Other Projects
Consistently with how most fans remember it, season seven shows a marked dip in average episode quality as compared to the previous four seasons of TNG. It’s not that there aren’t still good episodes, though; in fact, the combined number of four- and five-star offerings is similar to previous seasons. The problem is more that the middle really drops out. Three-star episodes account for around half of each of the previous few seasons, but seventh season has just 5—with a corresponding increase in the number of two-star episodes, making two stars (alas) the single most common rating of the season. There’s some good stuff this season, but you have to wade through quite a lot of blah to get to it.
